Thank you, e-Mission GmbH for the energizing and inspiring time in Berlin filming ESG training!

e-Mission and I share the belief that shifting capital flows is essential for saving the planet and solving the deep systemic challenges we face. And that effective Environment, Social and Governance ratings are a supportive tool for doing this.

Yet without a unified standard for measurement, as ESG moves more into the mainstream and the term more frequently is interchanged with sustainability, socialimpact and the SDGs, many financial services and insurance professionals – even some in investment management and financial advisory – are not always clear on how ESG ratings work. Or are applied to investment decisions. This poses a challenge especially for firms in the EU with the new MiFID II regulation.

e-Mission co-founder Raul Engelke recognized a gap in the market and the resultant opportunity to thread together his background in the film industry with his passion for green tech and solving the many social challenges we face. Bringing together a high-performing team, e-Mission developed an engaging and interactive training for the German market. Over the past few weeks I’ve had the genuine pleasure of working alongside Raul, clean energy expert Joan Michelson, the e-Mission team and an extraordinary film and sound production crew, to translate, develop and film a refreshed version of the German training in English.

No talking heads or hired actors lecturing here as is common in corporate training and development. Instead: live sets, special effects, industry expertise and interactivity to bring the issues of Environment, Social and Governance to life and motivate professionals to go deeper, gain more insight and enhance their knowledge as these metrics evolve. (Here’s a peak at how much fun we had filming the training!)

I’m looking forward to seeing the 6 post-production modules – and the addition of more advanced and specialized trainings over time!
